Purchasing Cambodian Dancers - Ancient & Modern
On February 4, 2011, the historic First Cambodian Edition of Cambodian Dancers - Ancient & Modern was launched in Phnom Penh. This auspicious date was chosen to honor the author, George Groslier, who became the first French child born in the Kingdom of Cambodia on February 4, 1887. He spent the rest of his life serving the people and culture of his birth country.
This historic edition, with colored endpapers and coated text-stock, is the first time Groslier's work has been reissued in any language since 1913. This is the first time his book has appeared in English and the book includes the first complete biography of the author. Most important, this is the first of Groslier's books in nearly 100 years to be fully printed and manufactured in Cambodia by Cambodians.
We continue George Groslier's efforts to respect and perpetuate Cambodian dance by donating 100% of book profits to the NKFC Conservatoire at Banteay Srey -- Cambodia's first school of traditional dance and music under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Buppha Devi.
The special First Cambodian Edition of this work is only available for purchase within the Kingdom of Cambodia at Monument Books and other fine booksellers. Readers outside of Cambodia may rely on the ordering links below to purchase the international edition:
